Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali- Nyungwe Forest Park
on day 1 of 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest, you will meet up with your guide driver, brief you about the safari and embark on a journey of approximately 225 km from Kigali to Nyungwe forest park in southern province of Rwanda. Stop over for lunch will be along the way and then en-route, reaching the park in the afternoon. Check in at the lodge of your choice and then rest have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & canopy walk
On this day 2 of 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking, wake up very early and head to the park headquarters for briefing with enough drinking water, you will be divided into groups of 8 persons with other travelers. At 8:30 start your search for the chimpanzees in Nyungwe forest it might take form 2-8 hours depending on where the primates hosted the previous night. On reaching to where they are an hour time duration will be given to you, watch them play, hopping on trees, breastfeeding, communicating among others, take as many photos as you can with non-flashlight cameras. This activity gives you a chance to spot other wildlife species like birds, golden monkeys, among others.
After the one-hour chimpanzee trekking rwanda, hike back to the headquarters meet up with your guide driver and head to the lodge for lunch. Later in the evening have a canopy walk the only one of its kind in East Africa, you will have a clear view of the plants, primates, birds at a closer range. After all the long day of adventure return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure to Kigali
After breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart to Kigali, on the way you will have a stop at the Rwanda genocide memorial where thousands of Rwanda’s where killed and a cultural site after the guide driver will drop you at a hotel or Kigali airport depending on your flight schedule, this marks the end of your chimpanzee trekking in nyungwe national park.
