Detailed Itinerary for 20 Days Whale Migration Safari

Day 1:    Madagascar

On your arrival at the Airport (Antananarivo) in Madagascar, & then be transferred by the driver guide to a place where you will have to check in, relax, Dinner & Overnight stay.

Day 2:    Inland flight to Tulear

Breakfast in the morning, then transfer to Tulear shoreline town, have lunch from there, almost at the shoreline of Canal de Mozambique. Check in, Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 3,4: Transfer to Isalo National Park

Breakfast, then transfer to Isalo National Park. This is the Grand Canyon of Madagascar, its landscape is outstanding, amalgamated with profound Canyons, Green Oases, Stone creations/formations & plains, & with that you will get the opportunity to discover such a beautiful place on foot.

When leaving to this destination please carry your swimming costume so that you don’t miss out on chilling/cooling, dip into one of the natural pools here, have supper and Overnight stay.

Day 5,6:  Engage in Tsaranoro Hiking

Breakfast, then transfer North along RN7, & you will be able to get a chance spot & know more about the Malagassy values.

On your arrival you are able to discover this mountainous area containing estates, Rice paddies enclosed by the elevated crests, plus the indigenous route –Parc Anja where you will encounter the ring-tailed Lemurs vast family.

Day 7: Transfer to Ranamafana National Park

Have breakfast & then you will be transferred to this prominent National Park in Madagascar-Ranomafana. Enjoy the close hot springs/ drive to the spa to recuperate from the long trip transfer precisely all that is done in the afternoon. Have an evening walk though to be able to spot some of the Nocturnal animals such as mouse lemurs, geckos, tree frogs, etc. Check in, Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 8: Ranamafana National Park

The discovery of the new Lemur Kind-Golden Bamboo Lemur (critically endangered up to date), is basically when Ranomafana- (means warm water) was recognized as a National Park. The rainforest does shelter both flora & fauna like 12 dissimilar kinds of Lemurs,118 bird species and among them 30 are prevalent in the National Park. 

Ranomafana National Park has received 5 different trails that can be of interest to your exploration. In the morning, when these strolls can & the extent & effort of the trail can be accustomed to your ability/fitness level. More so spotting lemurs, you may also be able to view numerous unlike chameleons & geckos. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 9,10: Transfer to Antsirabe

The driver guide will pick you up in the morning for your trip, setting off in the South to a vibrant Antsirabe town & you will be able to spot & view the backdrop altering to farm lands where mainly rice is highly grown by these indigenous people.

Still, in this town you will witness the Malagasy way of life, relish a drive through it on a push(pousse-pousse)-the local bikes they use to move though, and also relish a drink on one of the indigenous/local verandas. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Transfer to Andasibe National Park

Breakfast, & then proceed to Andasibe National Park – Eastwards & it consumes approximately 4-5hrs, have a stopover at the Peyrieras Reptile Reserve-it shelters a huge concentration of Reptiles such as Chameleons, Frogs, Geckos, to mention but a few. Check in, Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 12: Andasibe National Park

Enjoy your breakfast, then embark on your stimulating stroll/walk in the National Park in search for the unique creatures, perceive the striking sound of the Indri-Indri once connecting with the rest of the creatures, will still have a chance to eye witness creatures such as the Brown Lemur, Bamboo Lemur, prevalent Chameleons, etc. Remember this National Park shelters the prevalent Lemur globally(Indri-Indri).

Then you could relax a bit & then engage in a Nocturnal stroll in the evening so as to be able to spot creatures such as the Sportive Lemur, more Chameleon kinds, etc. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 13: Canal de Pangalanes

Have your breakfast in the morning, then you will be transferred by the driver guide to the outstanding destination for a wonderful boat cruise along Canal de Pangalanes. This canal (600km) is a tangle of 100km of lakes, ponds plus the trivial streams linked via man -dung canals. The canal was purposely built to boost transportation up-to-date. Formerly, this canal was used to pass harvests & goods from the Southern farmsteads to the dock of Tamatave-that is during the rule of the Frenchman.

Get a chance to explore opulent vegetation such as the pandanus-the Elephant ears of the Mangroves, the palm trees plus the Travellers tree (Ravinala tree). Also you will have to eye witness the reliable fishing society while on a boat cruise. Dinner & overnight stay.

Day 14: Aye Aye tracking

 Breakfast, then embark on your trip to a distinct secluded reserve where you will engage in the Aye-Aye tracking, on a 50 hec island along Lake Ampitabe & linking with the Indian Ocean is where this Palmarium Ankanin’ny Nofy reserve is positioned, get like Indri Indri, Sifaka, Varecia, Variegate, Propithecus, Coronatus, plus the infrequent Aye Aye (extraordinary looking animal recognised in Madagascar), is also sheltered in this reserve.

Day 15: Transfer to Tamatave

Breakfast & then enjoy your boat cruise on Canals de Pangalanes, & Tamatave (Taomasina) is the hugest dock of Madagascar.

Day 16: Transfer to St. Marie Island

You will be transferred by an inland plane to Ile St. Marie Island/Nosy Boraha locally called ‘Island of Pirates’. During the 18th century this island was being used as a pelt for the pirates, & evidently you will be able to vividly spot some relics from the museum plus the pirates graveyards, but to date it is a well-positioned location for the beach.

Day 17,18: Whale Watching

Breakfast & then embark on your expedition to watch the Hunchback Whales & very closely though. This is the highlight of transferring to St. Marie Island, a vast of Whales do relocate from the South pole to this specific destination to produce & also nurture their young ones.

Day 19: Inland flight to Antananarivo
