Nxai pan national park Botswana is located in north-eastern Botswana covering an area of 2578 square kilometers and lies just north of the Maun-Nata main road, this park also adjoins Makgadikgadi pans national park on its northern border.

Nxai pan park consists of Nxai Pan which is one of the Makgadikgadi Pans, it pan is a fossil lakebed of about 40 square kilometers in size.

Nxai pan park is a habitat to a variety of flora and fauna, the park is dominated by a cluster of millennia-old baobab trees who owe their name to Thomas Baines a man to have discovered them.

Fauna in Nxai pan  park includes wildlife and birds, wildlife species in this park include elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah, kudu, springbok, impala, ostrich, Cape wild dog, jackal, hyena, bat-eared fox, aardwolf, and honey badger and many more.

Birds in Nxai Pan park are about 200 species and they include Abdim’s stork, Barred owl, African fish eagle, Black bustard, Black-cheeked waxbill, Black-winged stilt, Blue-cheeked bee-eater, Bronze-winged courser, Burchell’s Coucal, Burchell’s courser, Capped wheatear, Dusky Lark, Eastern paradise whydah, Gabar goshawk, Great white pelican, Greater flamingo, White-browed robin-chat, Kori bustard, Lesser flamingo, Martial eagle, Meyer’s parrot, Ostrich, Pale chanting goshawk, Southern pied babbler, Pied avocet, Pin-tailed whydah, Pink-backed pelican, Red-billed francolin, Red-necked falcon, Saddle-billed stork, Secretary bird, Shaft-tailed whydah, Southern anteater chat, Temminck’s courser, Violet-eared waxbill, Wattled crane, White stork and many more

 Nxai pan national park activities include game viewing, birding, sightseeing and nature walks.
