Detailed Itinerary of 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking

Day 1: Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

day 1 of 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, you will be picked up by your guide driver after breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western Uganda via Masaka-Mbarara highway. You will have a stopover in Masaka at the equator and take as many photos as you please and embark on your drive to the park. The next stop will be in Mbarara for a lunch break and little relaxation and en-route straight to the park arriving late in the evening, check in at a prior booked accommodation for dinner and night rest as you prepare the following day full of adventures.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking- Bwindi Forest

Day 2 of 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking On this day you get a chance to get a close encounter with the endangered mountain Gorillas. You will wake very early for a morning breakfast after transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the forest, you will be divided in groups and start your search led by an armed experienced park guide, the search might take from 2- full day of searching depending on the gorilla family your allocated and your trekking speed. During the search you will encounter with a number of primates, bird species, reptiles and the park’s thick evergreen vegetation. On encountering with these species, you will be allocated a full hour to spend with them in their natural environment, watch them play, breast feed, eat, communicate among others. This is the most rewarding activity, you will forget all the hustle you passed through to get to them, your guaranteed satisfaction and amusement. After trek back to the HQ where you will be rewarded trekking certificates that justify your contribution to the conservation of these endangered species. return to the lodge for a lunch break.

After lunch you will have a cultural encounter in the Batwa community and later transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, on reaching check in the lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

On the third day of 4 days gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, Chimpanzee trekking a little bit similar to Gorilla Trekking, you will be required to wake up very early for a heavy morning meal, carry packed lunch, enough drinking water and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the forest. At 8:00 am you will commence you search for these primates guided by a park ranger. The park has the highest concentration of Primates in East Africa, during your search for the chimpanzee you will be rewarded with views of other primates, bird species, reptiles and the different tree species. the search ranges from 2-3 hours of chimpanzee searching depending on where these primates hosted their night and your trekking speed. On your encounter with these species you will be allocated a full hour to watch them play, jump from branch to branch, watch them breast feed young ones and more. After return to the lodge for relaxation and later in the night have dinner and night rest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking -Kibale Forest

You will wake up to a relaxed breakfast as you enjoy the lodge services and environment, after start you transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe and your guide driver will drop you at your desired destination.
